Tips For Shopping at Your Local Lavender Farm in Ohio
We love when customers come prepared for their purchase even if it is their first time at our farm. We prefer to think about the 3C’s when visiting a local farm.

What Should I Bring to a Local Lavender Farm in Ohio?
Comfortable Shoes
This may seem like an odd idea, but many of our local lavender farms have uneven ground as they are “working farms” where the ground is relatively flat but may be uneven. You should come prepared with closed-toe shoes. Please don’t walk in areas that are not allowed at the farm. It is always best not to run or jump around the lavender plants or animals for your safety and the farm’s well-being.

Coolers
If you are buying refrigerated or frozen items, please come prepared with a cooler. There is nothing worse than buying cold items at a local farm and not having a way to keep it cool during your drive home.

Cash
As Dave Ramsey would say, cash is king! Remember that you will need a way to buy your goods from your local lavender farms. Many local farm stores are self-service and cash is the simplest form of payment where the farmer doesn’t need to pay service fees for selling items. Some local farms use electronic payment methods such as Venmo, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. Other farms may have access to a credit card machine.

Are Bees and Other Wildlife Present?
When you visit a local lavender farm in Ohio, please be aware that bees and other wildlife are likely present. Please follow the directions of the farmer for how you should address this, but we have found that bees and smaller wildlife like butterflies will typically leave you alone. Of course, if you have allergies to specific plants, animals, or seasonal allergens please come prepared.

When Are The Best Times to Visit the Local Lavender Farm in Ohio?
Although the local lavender farm in Ohio may have specific times that they are open, we have found that some times in the season may be more optimal than others. For instance, to grab fresh lavender bundles, then you will want to shop during the Summer harvest (typically late June to August depending on the growing zone).
Please know that the price of some items may change depending on the season or may be adjusted based on the challenges of the growing conditions during a particular year.

Ohio is a long way away from France, however, our name gives a nod to the country known for its breathtaking images of purple fieldsโa region where this aromatic plant thrives. In French, the meaning of the name Aimee is: dearly loved; beloved. This comes from the Old French Amee, which derives from the Latin amatus meaning loved. It is fitting that I, as well as our friendly bees, adore this herb. Their humming harmony is music to my ears each summer evening. We look forward to sharing this enchanting flower with you.

Although not necessarily a lavender farm, Sunny Meadows Flower Farm grows a variety of cut flowers. Sunny Meadows was established in 2006 by Steve and Gretel Adams. From their website โWe both found we had a deep passion for farming and a strong drive to make our business the best we can be. Being first generation farmers, finding mentors to learn from has become an important part of how weโve built Sunny Meadows.

Once we began growing, we immediately fell in love with spreading the joy of flowers. We started by selling straight bunches of flowers (mainly sunflowers and zinnias), until we started making bouquets, and thatโs when the obsession with flower artistry really began. Then we realized we could create a botanical adventure by using what’s seasonally in bloom, making our weekly bouquets ever-changing. There are multiple sales outlets, and we focus as a business on both production and specialty crops.โ
Although they do not allow customers to walk around the property, stop by and shop from their Farmstand. During lavender season they have fresh bundles available and dried bundles are available throughout the year.
