What Is Available at Lavender Farms in Missouri?
That is a great question! There are so many great things that you can do at a lavender farm.

You are sure to find something that is enjoyable. We were excited to see that several of them are offering special events for the upcoming holiday season, too.
Tips For Shopping at Your Local Lavender Farms in Missouri
We love when customers come prepared for their purchase even if it is their first time at our farm. We prefer to think about the 3C’s when visiting a local farm.
What Should I Bring to a Local Lavender Farm in Missouri?
Comfortable Shoes
This may seem like an odd idea, but many of our local lavender farms have uneven ground as they are “working farms” where the ground is relatively flat but may be uneven. You should come prepared with closed-toe shoes. Please don’t walk in areas that are not allowed at the farm. It is always best not to run or jump around the lavender plants or animals for your safety and the farm’s well-being.
Coolers
If you are buying refrigerated or frozen items, please come prepared with a cooler. There is nothing worse than buying cold items at a local farm and not having a way to keep it cool during your drive home.
Cash
As Dave Ramsey would say, cash is king! Remember that you will need a way to buy your goods from your local lavender farms. Many local farm stores are self-service and cash is the simplest form of payment where the farmer doesn’t need to pay service fees for selling items. Some local farms use electronic payment methods such as Venmo, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. Other farms may have access to a credit card machine.
Are Bees and Other Wildlife Present?
When you visit a local lavender farm in Missouri, please be aware that bees and other wildlife are likely present. Please follow the directions of the farmer for how you should address this, but we have found that bees and smaller wildlife like butterflies will typically leave you alone. Of course, if you have allergies to specific plants, animals, or seasonal allergens please come prepared.
When Are The Best Times to Visit Local Lavender Farms in Missouri?
Although the local lavender farm in Missouri may have specific times that they are open, we have found that some times in the season may be more optimal than others. For instance, to grab fresh lavender bundles, then you will want to shop during the Summer harvest (typically late June to August depending on the growing zone).
Please know that the price of some items may change depending on the season or may be adjusted based on the challenges of the growing conditions during a particular year.

Augusta
Sunflower Hill Farm is located in Augusta, Missouri. This Missouri lavender farm is a beautiful wedding venue that grows sunflowers, lavender, and other cut flowers. They provide a gorgeous backdrop for your next event or special day.
From their website: “Once a llama farm in the 1990’s, Sunflower Hill Farm has truly transformed into a premiere venue since its purchase, by Mike and Karen, in July of 2014. While the farm was originally intended as a place for Karen to expand her green thumb, it wasn’t long before the beauty of the farm caught the attention of brides-to-be! At the time, the property included a dilapidated farmhouse and a small shed, so weddings were hosted outdoors without any bells and whistles. It soon became clear that this hobby farm was meant for so much more. Their vision began to grow.
While Sunflower Hill Farm has remained rooted in being family-owned and operated, we are proud to say we have grown into a multi-functional farm that provides the surrounding community and St. Louis area with organic produce and a community supported agriculture program. Outside of the vegetable garden and the chicken coop, Sunflower Hill Farm houses an event venue, large farmhouse, and quarry bonfire area that is available to rent for weddings, private parties, weekend getaways, retreats, and corporate events.”

Centralia
Battlefield Lavender is located in Centralia, Missouri. This Missouri lavender farm is open year round inviting you to explore their farm and and farm store. What started as a hobby farming vegetables, fruits and herbs has turned into a gorgeous lavender farm.
From their website: “As we became more familiar with Centralia, we learned more about its history during the Civil War. Just down the road from our farm, the Centralia Battlefield memorial honors the fallen from a battle between the Union army and Confederate guerrillas on Sept. 27, 1864. As Jason is a US Marine Corps combat veteran, and our fathers and grandfathers all served in war time (Air Force, Marines, Army and Navy), we have deep respect for those who serve in our military. We thought planting a beautiful field of lavender could be a means of bringing healing and tranquility to the land. We decided on the name Battlefield Lavender.
In May 2020, we expanded our farm to more than 1.3 miles of more than 2,400 plants. We still enjoy experimenting, and will always try new varieties as we find them!
We currently grow 17 lavender varieties, including Hidcote, Royal Velvet, Folgate and Melissa. Several of our varieties are culinary, and all look and smell amazing in an array of colors and fragrances!”
You will find a wide array of lavender classes, lavender products, and more at this lavender farm. Give them a look when you are in the area and let us know about your experience.

Clever
Lavender Falls Farm is located in Clever, Missouri. This lavender farm in Missouri is home to a variety of lavender plants, lavender products including lavender linen spray, lavender lotion, lavender balsamic glaze, and more. They even craft an array of culinary lavender recipes that you can try in their Springfield, Missouri Aviary Cafe.
From their website: “Our lives changed on June 26th 2013. A silly training accident with the Springfield Police Department ended Thor’s career as a Police Officer and left him wondering what’s next. Catherine was a successful Program Director and Physical Therapist Assistant, managing rehab services at eight senior care faculties in the area. She served as Missouri’s caucus rep for the APTA and helped craft key therapy legislation.
Doctors told Thor his injury was career ending, and he may never work again. This was not accepted by Thor, and in a pharmaceutically induced moment of insanity, Thor ordered 768 lavender plants. Although everyone failed to understand Thor’s foolish idea, family and friends rallied and planted the lavender. By October 2015, the plants had matured and been harvested. Catherine joined Thor at the Greater Springfield Farmers Market and soon realized that this crazy idea had legs. Catherine had to join Thor full time in Lavender propagation, planting and product production. By May of 2016, the company was being invited to exclusive festivals all over the Midwest and south.
Together, they evolved the company into retail, wholesale, and a staple festival brand. That wasn’t enough, and in June 2017 the duo opened the doors to their farm and a renovated barn turned cafe, store, and bar. Lavender Falls began hosting weddings and special gatherings later last year, and we are looking forward to sharing more special moments with others in the future.
The spring in the valley runs year round at a constant 59 degrees. Utilizing the natural beauty and relaxing charm it offers, we wanted to share these pristine waters and natural 300′ waterfall. We invite you to visit our farm during our short season, asking only that you remember the farm is our kids home first and foremost.”
